iPadOS 18 Predictions: The M3 Deserves Better
iPadOS 18 could be a massive release for the iPad. In fact, I anticipate 2024 to be one of the most exciting years for the iPad in a very long time. The fact that Apple has not released any meaningful iPad-related updates in almost two years is telling. One of the biggest reasons for the lack of updates could be the introduction of the Vision Pro which undoubtedly sucked up a lot of development resources. But even with the introduction of the headset, it is unusual for Apple to leave the iPad in limbo for this long.
The entire lineup is in a weird, semi-computer state where everything feels a little unfinished. Is it a phone? Is it a Mac? At this stage, it’s neither. And instead of being something better than both, it introduces a slew of new compromises that makes using the iPad cumbersome at times.
