Apple is hell-bent on convincing us that the iPad is the future of computing. Their ads portray the iPad as the go-to device for professionals on the go, whipping it out on an aeroplane, drawing in window sills and even while climbing a tree as seen in the horrifying “What’s a computer” commercial.
As a UX professional working in fintech, I must admit that I love my iPad Pro, but it is by no means the primary device I reach for when I need to mock up a complex wireframe or product idea. For this, I trust Figma as its cloud-based screen design software allows me to collaborate effortlessly with UX/UI teams around the world. As the UX/UI brand custodian for the company I work for, I love how easy it is for me to make and deploy changes to our design system and see them propagate automatically update across all our artboards.
Using Figma on my MacBook Pro is intuitive and easy to use. But if Apple keeps trying labour the point that their “Pro” touchscreen device was made for pros like me, then there must be some truth to that statement. Right?
