Apple is not late to AI, everyone else is just early

Apple’s most valuable asset isn’t any individual product or executive, but its brand. The Apple brand has always stood for enabling creativity, making it the go-to choice for creators. If Apple goes big and introduces tons of new AI tools at WWDC24 next week, it could be unleashing tools onto their loyal customer base that could forever alter the way Apple fans perceive the brand.

Google was the latest victim of the AI hype cycle. They set their brand on fire by adding AI-generated summaries to search results which told users it is safe to eat one rock per day and to add non-toxic glue to pizza cheese to stop it from separating from the crust.

It’s one thing for Google to set fire to its brand, but the Apple and AI moment could be a much bigger and much more consequential. Users trust Apple to maintain their privacy and for reliable tools that bring value to their lives. Imagine Siri telling someone to eat one rock per day, or to jump off of the Golden Gate Bridge if they are feeling depressed…
